Abstract:The traction motor is controlled according to the designed traction characteristics curve when Electrical Multiply Unit(EMU) runs. Due to the large power of the traction motor, different pulse modulation algorithm are adopted at different speed regions when EMU runs in full speed range. According to the characteristic of three-level neutral point clamped traction inverter adopted in the main circle of EMUs’ traction drive system, the principle of synchronous, asynchronous modulation, pulse control and rotor field orientated vector control are analyzed. Based on Matlab/Simulink, the simulation of EMU traction motor full speed range control is carried out in full speed range. The simulation results show that the control system can realize accurate control of EMU traction motor in full speed range.
