Abstract:Epoxy resin containing nano-size,micro-size Al2O3 and nano-size SiO2 of various contents are prepared. The purpose of efforts we engaged in is to study the efforts of nano alumina,micro alumina,nano-micro alumina and nano silica on the breakdown strength of epoxy resin. Sphere-to-sphere electrode is chosen to do the AC breakdown experiment and observe that appropriate amount of nano alumina enhances the electrical characteristics of epoxy resin on breakdown strength while micro alumina lowers the breakdown strength of epoxy resin. With the increasing amount of hydrophilic nano silica,the breakdown strength of nano epoxy composite increases while the same amount of R series of hydrophobic nano silica lowers it.
