Abstract:Wavelet footprint is proposed for noise suppression aimed at the big interference during partial discharge detection of power transformers. Cycle-spanning method is used for denoising and enhancement. Wavelet footprints based on wavelet transform represent the original partial discharge signal characteristics with footprint sets, removing the dependence of wavelet coefficients across scales. Wavelet footprints can better retain the signal characteristics. Cycle-spanning method eliminates the translation dependence. The denoised signal can effectively approximate the real partial discharge signal. Simulation and field data demonstrates that, wavelet footprints method based on translation-invariant can reduce the noise interference and extract effective partial discharge signals, with better effect than traditional wavelet method.
