Abstract:For single phase three-level neutral-point-clamped (NPC)voltage source rectifiers: in order to reduce switching times and losses during communication, A single phase three-level space vector pulse width modulation(SVPWM) technique and a single phase unipolar three-level carrier sinusoidal PWM(TLC-SPWM) technique with zero-sequence voltage injection are proposed in this paper. The design method of SVPWM is shown in detail, and the selection method of zero-sequence voltage in TLC-SPWM is discussed in detail too. Theoretic analysis and calculation results show that the SVPWM method and TLC-SPWM method with zero-sequence voltage injection are the same PWM scheme essentially, and both of the implementing methods are different. The SVPWM and TLC-SPWM methods can effectively reduce switching times and losses during communication compared with traditional TCL-SPWM. Finally, Simulation model in Matlab/Simulink and a 1.3kW experimental prototype with TMS320F2812 controller are designed for the single phase three-level NPC rectifier. The simulation and experimental results verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed SVPWM and neutral point controller.
