Rearrangement of Patterns and Optimization Algorithm of Space Vector Modulation for Matrix Converter

Abstract:Space vector modulation (SVM) is a kind of modulation in common use for matrix converter (MC). The complexity of SVM is increased because of the modulation multiplicity of zero vectors, and the algorithm still can be optimized. It is researched that the high differential voltage consists in the middle of the modulation subsequence which will cause high switching loss in the commutation before or after the high differential voltage. Rearrangement method of the space vector modulation patterns is proposed in this paper which is modulated according to the magnitude of the input voltages. Furthermore, a composite measure of reducing the common mode voltage of MC is also proposed based on the method of reducing switching loss. Simulation and experimental results verify the validity and feasibility of the proposed method.
