Abstract:Among the control algorithm of current source PWM rectifier, SVPWM is applied widely because it has higher current utilization factor than SPWM. But when the two control method is applied to active inverters (grid-connected photovoltaic system and current source APF for example), they present a wholly opposite characteristic. The current source inverter output characteristic controlled by SPWM and SVPWM are analyzed and contrasted in detail based on power delivery, area equivalent theorem and the different mechanism of the two algorithms when trigger pulses are produced according to the current command. The conclusion is draw that at the same condition when worked as an inverter, SPWM can output higher invert current. The simulation and test result is presented and a new control way of bi-direction CSI to obtain higher current utilization factor is presented.
