Abstract：Simplification of wind farm model is studied for dynamic simulation about induction generator(IG) farm and double fed induction generator(DFIG) farm in this paper. The rule for simplifying wind farm dynamic model is the same or similar operating point to wind turbines and generators. According to wake effect, the wind farms are divided into regions, and some wind turbine-generators are merged as one for establishing the simplified model of wind farm. Focusing on the type of wind turbine-generators and the dynamic process, such as, wind fluctuation, short cirut fault, the availability of simplified models is verified by comparing detailed model with simplified models in varying degrees on simulating, and the application of simplified models is proposed for dynamic simulation.
