Abstract:Anti-islanding protection is a mandatory feature for grid-connected inverters. A desired islanding detection method not only can detect islanding within acceptable duration, but also have less adverse impact on power quality. The performance of islanding detection method is usually subject to the anti-islanding strategy and parameter setting. The paper analyzes the mechanism of slip-mode frequency shift method and the frequency deviation in grid disconnection. Relationship between the non-detection zones (NDZs) and its algorithm parameter are discussed, which contribute to achieve “non islanding inverter” in practice.
