Abstract:The design of redundant architecture plays an important role in guaranteeing the reliability of different protection and control systems in digital substation. Some typical redundant architectures are analyzed, and two improved schemes with centralized backup and crossover backup are proposed. The reliability and economic assessment results show that centralized backup as well as crossover backup are recommended redundancy methods for single protection system. Double protections system is essentially of high reliability without additional network redundancy.
