Method and Experimental Study of Transmission Line Voltage Measurement Based on a Gauss-Type Integral Algorithm

Abstract  Aiming at flaws that existed in the electric field integration method, such as some nodes are too close to the transmission line, the segmentation of the integration domain is inconvenient to calculate, in this paper, a Gauss-type numerical integration method with the given node was proposed, to reduce the difficulty in solving nonlinear equations, optimize the integration node parameters, and improve voltage measuring precision. First, comparing with the prototype method, the Gauss-type calculation models with the given node were established, and the analytical formula with E-field disturbance factors was derived for calculating the node parameters. Then, the E-field distribution was calculated under the transmission line by the electromagnetic simulation software Maxwell. Combining with the conditional factors in the selection of the integral node, the coordinates and the corresponding weights of the nodes were calculated. Finally, a D-dot sensor measurement experimental platform was built and the effectiveness of the proposed method was verified. According to the repeated test results in the voltage range of 5~20 kV, the relative error of the proposed Gauss-type method is less than 0.5%, which means a better measurement performance than the prototype method.
