Abstract A generalized single resonant cell based multilevel voltage-sharing DC-DC converter topology and its simplified topology are proposed in this paper. Two control strategies (sequential control strategy and cyclic control strategy) are given and the corresponding working principles are analyzed. The proposed topologies feature with single resonant cell, low number of switches and simplified control strategy. Besides, zero current switching can be achieved for all the switches and voltage sharing can be realized for all the DC link capacitors. Finally, the validity and superiority are verified by the experimental results.
