Abstract  To solve the difficulty in measuring the starting characteristic and dynamic impedance for the compact high induction motor,the interactional relationship among the starting characteristic,the saturation and the skin effect during the starting process is studied.According to the physical structure of motor,the present model and algorithm are improved.In view of engineering application,the coupled model of the motor magnetic circuit,layered method and dynamic mathematical model is established.The coupled model is calculated to obtain the dynamic parameters in the motor starting process.The influence of the impedance on the motor starting characteristic is analyzed.Both the finite element method and the experimental method verify the accuracy of the calculated model.With the method proposed in this paper,a series of motor calculation can be realized.
