Optimal Scheduling Model of Virtual Power Plant in a Unified Electricity Trading Market

Abstract  The conventional scheduling models of the virtual power plant (VPP) only consider the electricity trading in the day-ahead market.In this paper,a unified electricity trading model covering the day-ahead market and the real time market is proposed.In thismodel,the limit,that the day-ahead market should purchase and sell electricity according to the forecasting load,is broken,and the electricity traded in day-ahead market is optimized to minimize the overall costs and maximize overall profits.Based on the electricity trading model in the unified market and the operating models and constraints of the elements,i.e.distributed sources,energy storage systems,and interruptible loads,in VPP,the optimal scheduling VPP model in the unified market is developed,which can reasonably allocate electricity among internal distributed generations,interruptible loads,and energy storage systems in VPP and optimize the electricity transaction between the VPP and the unified market to achieve maximum economic benefits.The consequence of the example analyses proves the correctness and the usefulness of the optimal scheduling model given by this paper.
