Amplitude Control Set Model Predictive Control Strategy for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

Abstract  The traditional finite constraint set model predictive control method only uses six effective space voltage vectors and two zero vectors of two-level voltage source inverter as the control set, resulting in high current harmonics in the phase current of permanent magnet synchronous motor. To solve this problem, an amplitude control set model predictive control method based on voltage amplitude control set in rotating coordinate system is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the load state of the motor is analyzed, and the voltage amplitude control set is designed according to the motor voltage state equation. Then the optimal voltage amplitude is selected according to the current reference value and current prediction model. Based on the current rotor position, the optimal vector is synthesized and the inverter voltage vector is applied to the motor. This method can effectively reduce the phase error and amplitude error of the optimal vector, so as to reduce the current harmonic and torque ripple of the motor. At the same time, the limited optimal range and the design of amplitude control set make the method effectively reduce the computational complexity of the algorithm. Finally, by building a hardware experimental platform and comparing with current loop PI controller and duty cycle model predictive current controller, the improvement of steady-state performance and dynamic performance of this method is verified.
