Abstract  The proportional multi-resonant (PMR) controller in a grid-connected inverter can simultaneously suppress many harmonics in input current of grid. However, the traditional PMR is complex designed and has limited number of parallel resonant controllers. Therefore, a novel combination controller based on repetitive control (RC) and proportional control (PC) is proposed in this paper, which only needs to design a few parameters. Firstly, according to the expansion of RC in frequency domain, the novel combination controller can be realized in parallel of RC and PC. Then, the stability and parameter design of the proposed controller are analyzed. Finally, the parameters of the novel combination controller in L-type grid-connected inverter are designed. The experimental results show that the proposed combination controller can simultaneously suppress harmonics of multiple frequencies and has fast dynamic performance.
