Abstract  An optimal planning model of electric bus fast-charging network was proposed. Taking the characteristics of bus network and dispatching schedule into consideration, a fast-charging demand analysis model of electric bus lines was established. In this paper, an optimal placing and sizing model of the bus fast charging network was designed with the objection of minimizing the total cost including the charging network investment cost, the additional cost of bus lines due to charging and the distribution network investment cost for integrating bus fast charging load. Aiming at the problem of global optimization, a linearization technique was used to solve the model. The model was applied to a planning scene of 19 bus lines totally replaced by fast charging electric buses in a city area. The case shows that the model optimizes the layout of fast charging facilities for urban public transportation which promotes the establishment of efficient and low-cost bus charging service network.
