Displacement Subsection Control Strategy Based on Motor Operating Device of High Voltage Circuit Breaker

Abstract  The research on the motor operating device of high voltage circuit breaker (HVCB) improves the reliability and controllability of the circuit breaker. Under the premise of satisfying the operational performance requirements of the circuit breaker, in order to control the movement process of the motor operating device simply for engineering application, a subsection control strategy by modifying the given quantitative was proposed. Firstly, based on an operating device of HVCB driven directly by three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), the movement characteristics of the drive motor in the closing process were analyzed. Then the movement process was divided into three stages according to the movement characteristics and circuit breaker requirements. Secondly, the subsection control was achieved by modifying displacement at different stages. Finally, the experimental studies on the simulation platform were carried out, the influence of the control quantity selection on the dynamic characteristics was analyzed and the control parameters were selected at different stages. The results show that the proposed subsection control strategy can control the motor operating device according to the control requirements of different movement stages. It is easy to set the parameter and implement in engineering applications, which provides a feasible and effective control strategy for the efficient dynamic control of the motor operating device for HVCB.
