Abstract

In dual permanent magnet synchronous motor (dual-PMSM) system, the speed synchronization of the motors can always be deteriorated by load torque disturbance. This can easily lead to differential oscillation problem. This paper combined cross-coupling structure with sliding mode control algorithm, proposed a speed synchronization control strategy based on integral type sliding mode variable structure speed controller, by using exponential reaching law and saturation function to alleviate the effect of inherent chatting of sliding mode control. In addition, a speed synchronization controller is designed to compensate the reference current of two motors, the speed of two motors can achieve synchronization as soon as possible by setting appropriate coupling synchronous coefficient. Experimental results verified that the proposed control strategy enhances the robustness, the speed tracking and synchronization performance of dual-PMSM system.
