Abstract A high voltage gain converter with coupled-inductor voltage-doubler cell and non-dissipated LC snubber circuit is presented in this paper. A coupled-inductor voltage-doubler cell is utilized to achieve high step-up voltage gain of boost converter. Meanwhile, non-dissipated LC snubber circuit is used to recycle leakage inductance energy and suppress voltage spike stress of the power switch. Therefore, a MOSFET that has low switch-on resistance and low voltage level can be employed, to reduce the conduction loss and improve cost and efficiency of converter. Furthermore, the voltage-double cell can eliminate the voltage oscillation of the output diode, so reduce the voltage stress of output diode. In addition, the proposed converter with LC snubber circuit has continuous input current and high boost ratio. Therefore, it is suitable for fuel cell or photovoltaic application. Steady state analysis and the operating characteristics of the converter are discussed in detail. Finally, experimental results verify the proposed converter.
