Abstract  Focusing on the optimal window length design of the moving average filter (MAF),this paper deduces the necessary and sufficient conditions for MAF to filter specified orders of harmonics simultaneously with quantitative analysis. Then the enhanced MAF (EMAF) algorithm and the EMAF based open-loop phase locking scheme for the distorted grid synchronization are proposed.Compared with the cascaded delayed signal cancellation (CDSC) method, the technical economy of EMAF is also analyzed from five aspects,i.e.dynamic response time, transient oscillation amplitude, required data storage size, thorough harmonics elimination, and high-frequency stochastic noise suppression ability. The experiment validates the correctness of the conclusions and the superiority of the EMAF algorithm.
