Effect of Rotor Eccentricity on the Branch Induced Voltage of the Large Salient-Pole Synchronous Generator Under Different Winding Connection Condition

Abstract:Multi-slice model and 2-D nonlinear stepping finite element method are proposed for calculation the no-load branch induced voltage of a salient-pole synchronous generator with eccentric rotor and skewed stator slots under different stator winding connection. The exactness of this method is verified by the comparison of the calculation results and experiment results on an eccentric 3 kW 12-pole synchronous generator. Meanwhile, the comparison shows the effects of eccentricity on the equilibrium of the branch induced voltage in a lap winding generator is more than that in a wave winding generator.
