Parameters Determination and Electromagnetic Field Analysis of Canned Solid-Rotor Induction Motor(2):2D-Multilayer Electromagnetic Model and Its Analytical Calculation

Abstract:As the rotor structure of canned solid-rotor induction motor (CSRIM) is more complicated than normal induction machine, the method for calculating the equivalent circuit parameters and the performance of motor is still relatively simple. As the second paper of series, the 2D-multilayer electromagnetic field theory will be introduced to analytical calculation of electromagnetic field of CSRIM in this paper. Thus, the electromagnetic field analysis model with N anisotropic layers is built. Then, the poynting vector and wave impedance are used to calculate equivalent impedance expressions of CSRIM rotor. These expressions are also be simplified in this paper. Finally, equivalent impedance expressions are applied on a model prototype. The computational accuracy of derived expressions is compared with traditional method and finite element analysis.
