Abstract:The precise measurement about the rotational magnetostriction in the non-oriented electrical steel sheet is significant for the research on reducing the vibration of iron core in the electrical motor. By utilizing a two-dimensional magnetic properties device and a rosette foil resistance strain gauge, this paper develops an experimental tester to investigate the rotational magnetostrictive property of electrical steel sheet . The effects of the paste position and size of the strain gauge on the measurement results are discussed, the dynamic properties of the rotational magnetostrictive strain within one magnetization cycle are analyzed, and the deformation of a synchronous generator core model caused by magnetostriction is simulated. The results show that the rotational magnetostriction is greater than the alternating one and strongly dependent on the shape of magnetization trajectories.
