Abstract:A reduced mutliconductor equivalent method is studied to overcome the limitation of the traditional multiconductor transmission line(MTL) method. It can predict the crosstalk accurately in high frequency. The principle of this method is that all conductors in a multi-core cable are classified as four groups according to the terminal loads. Each group can be equivalent to one conductor which means less objects have to be considered and less computing resource are needed. Thus the 3D full-wave method can be applied to multi-conductor crosstalk problem. Then the feature selective validation (FSV) method is introduced to quantitatively validate the efficiency of this simplified method. The validation results demonstrate that the reduced algorithm improves the level of accuracy up to “Good” compared with “Poor” for the traditional MTL theory.
