Abstract:To realize static stability maglev, an axial flux maglev induction maglev motor (AFIMM) is proposed to replace the magnet wheel scheme. Three dimensional (3D) transient finite element (FE) model for AFIMM is created to analyze magnetic field distribution. Sub-loop calculation method and multi-layer traveling field surface impedance method are adopted to calculate levitation force and torque; meanwhile the relationships between force characteristics and related parameters are analyzed. The experiment verified the validity of the theoretical analysis.
