Abstract Aimed at inhibiting the load disturbance in permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) under the actual working condition of electric vehicles, a new type of disturbance inhibition method was presented based on Hamiltonian system H∞ control theory. On one hand, a Hamiltonian H∞ controller was designed on the basis of Hamiltonian realization and stabilizing control of PMSM considering iron loss. On the other hand, the response of currents, rotating speed and electromagnetic torque were analyzed under different disturbance inhibition level when the load disturbance existed. The simulation results show that the proposed Hamiltonian H∞control has strong anti-disturbance ability which is useful to the drivability and comfort of the electric vehicle.
