Fixed Joint Double Fifteen-Phase Induction Motor Control and Fault-Tolerant Control in Ship Propulsion System |

Abstract With the advantages of high reliability, fault-tolerant operation, ability to drive heavy load, fixed joint double fifteen-phase induction motors(15PIM) have important significance in ship propulsion system. This paper analyzes the mathematical model of 15PIM, and establishes the simulation model of 15PIM and propeller load. By the derivation of generalized park transformation, this paper designs field-oriented vector control for 15PIM, and combines with torque following control of fixed joint motors, torque following vector control is proposed. After analyzing the change of magnetic motive force(MMF) in fault condition, fault-tolerant strategy of cutting off symmetrical stator windings is proposed. Results of simulation in Matlab/Simulink demonstrate the validity of torque following vector control and fault-tolerant control.
