Calculation Method of Noise Level for Capacitor Based on Vibration Signal

Abstract:The noise of capacitor installation is one of main noise sources at converter station, so it has important significance to study noise level calculation method of a single capacitor for reasonable evaluating the noise level of the whole capacitor installation. First, the generation mechanism of capacitor noise is described in the article, the electric field force between electrodes leads to the vibration of capacitor tank and then the noise is produced and radiated out. Then the relationship between the vibration of capacitor surface and its radiation noise is analyzed, and its calculation formulas are also presented. The vibration and noise measuring system is established in the laboratory, acceleration signal in different conditions of the capacitor surface is measured, and then the data is verified by spectrum analysis. Finally, the A weighting sound pressure level (LPA) is calculated by the formulas in the article, the comparison and analysis between calculation and measurement in hemi-anechoic room validate the presented method.
