Nonlinear Decoupled -Vector Control of Back-to-Back Voltage Source Converter

Abstract:Dynamic model of back-to-back voltage source converter under d-q reference frame is developed. A nonlinear decoupled controller is designed for active and reactive power exchange between the converter and two side ac systems using the feedback linearization technique. Tracking reference power between the converter and two side ac systems are performed by means of electromagnetic simulations and experiments under PSCAD/EMTDC and a 30kVA/380V prototype system, respectively. The validity of the proposed controller is demonstrated by the simulation and the experimental results.
