Abstract:A kind of simplified multilevel space vector pulse width modulation (PWM) is proposed, which consists of vector phase shift, virtual carrier phase shift and virtual carrier phase disposition SVPWM based on two-level space vector PWM (SVPWM). The proposed PWM deconstructs and reorganizes the degrees of freedom of the virtual triangular carrier and modulation wave existing in the traditional two-level SVPWM by analyzing the relationship between SVPWM and carrier-based PWM. The novel algorithms change the routine of locating and calculating the reference vector in a complicated voltage vector space by decomposing the vector with less dwell times. More importantly, it can be directly applied to any voltage level of the cascaded H-bridge inverter. Both simulation and experimental results have verified the algorithms.
