Abstract:In the field of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) rotor initial position identification, the conventional methods are possible to lead a long convergence process or even a wrong convergence due to multiple zero points, and the magnetic polarity cannot be identified, so that the motor starts failure or even reverses. Therefore, a rotor position identification method based on high frequency(HF) orthogonal square wave voltage injection is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the HF voltage signals are injected into the stationary reference frame(SRF), and then the HF response currents in the SRF are used to identify the rotor magnetic pole position. Secondly, a low-frequency sinusoidal current signal is injected into d-axis to identify rotor magnetic polarity. Because the rotor position can be obtained directly by arc tangent function in this method, it does not need long time to converge. Finally, the proposed method is verified on the 1.5kW IPMSM system.
