Abstract:In order to accurately calculate the transient parameters of pumped storage motor when it runs on power generation and motor conditions respectively, the field-circuit coupled time-stepping finite element (FEM) model which is based on unit machine is built in this paper. The transient parameters under three phases sudden short status are obtained by envelope method (for short envelope method). Simultaneously, the leakage reactance of stator and rotor windings and armature reaction reactances under three phases sudden short status are calculated by frozen permeability method, and the transient parameters are obtained by substituting the values into transient parameter definition formula (for short frozen permeability method). Then the design and calculated values of frozen permeability method are substituted into the short-circuit current analytical formula respectively, and compared with the FEM simulation waveform, the waveform of frozen permeability method is closer. Finally, the two calculation methods are used in the 6 poles anti-mounted hydro-generator, and compared with the experimental results, the effectiveness and feasibility of the two methods are verified.
