In this paper, image processing technology was applied to measure the hydrophobicity of insulators.Through considering image intensity, changes of gray value, gradient value and degree value, image contrast enhancement, combined with Hausdorff distance(HD) and morphological algorithms were used to detect the edges of insulators.Finally, the modified shape factor algorithm was adopted to confirm the level of hydrophobicity.Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is efficient to extract edge information of droplets (or watermarks) and obtain better performance than traditional methods.
