Abstract:In order to improve the ability of adjustable magnetic flux and reliability on traditional rotor-PM motors, a stator-separated axial flux-switching hybrid excited synchronous machine (SSAFSHEM) is presented, and its performance of constant-voltage generation is investigated. On the basis of novel SSAFSHEM, the mathematical and simulated excitation control model of SSAFSHEM is established. The experimental platform for excitation control system was set up to test the performance of constant-voltage generation when the load or speed of motor varied. Experimental results verify the correctness of the theory, and show that the terminal voltage can be stable within a certain scope by adjusting exciting current automatically.
