Modeling and Control Strategy of Islanding and Grid-Connected Operation of a Micro-Turbine Generation System

Abstract:Micro-turbine is the main direction in new energy resources utility, especially in the microgrid, and the control of its power generation system is much important for the stablity of microgrid islanding and grid-connected operation. In this paper, modular models for the MTGS are built, which including microturbine, permanent magnet synchronous machine, rectifier and inverter. Greater importance is attained on the researches of the control strategy for the MTGS for islanding or grid-connected operation. V-f control strategy is used in the islanding operation, while P-Q decoupling double closed-loop control is used in grid-connected operation. Finally, a new control strategy which integrated voltage decoupling control and current hysteresis loop control is presented. The simulation results demonstrate that the model is coordinate to the real MTGS.
