Abstract:The paper introduces a separated variables analytic magnetic field calculation method. Based on cylindrical coordinate scalar quantity magnet, this method focuses on the radial magnet tubular permanent magnet linear synchronous motor. Air-gap magnetic field distribution in slotless motor is analyzed by this method theoretically. Analytical results of the axial and radial air-gap magnetic field distribution are obtained. To the slotted motors, analytical expressions of radial flux density is obtained by introducing a Carter coefficient, and an air-gap relative ratio permeance function based on Schwarz-Christoffel transformation and considering cogging effect as well. Furthermore, thrust force of the slotless motor is calculated analytically. And, magnetic field and thrust of the results are verified with finite element numerical algorithm. That is, the motor air-gap magnetic field and thrust force calculation results are matched very well by the two methods, and the analytical method is verified correct and practical. Finally, the results of the slotless prototype radial magnetic field distribution and the thrust force with rated load are given, it is verified that the analysis and design prototype is correct.
