Abstract:The single-switch quadratic converters realize the cascade of two converters with only one active switch to achieve wider voltage conversion ratios and a better efficiency with simple driver circuits. Compared with traditional Buck converter, the single-switch quadratic Buck converter has three work conditions in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). In this paper, the working principle of the converter is analyzed. The state space averaging model of the converter is established. The steady state characteristics of the converter and relationship among circuit parameters are studied. Simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the theoretical analysis.
