Abstract:In this paper, a novel self-driven current-doubler-rectifier three-level converter with integrated magnetics is proposed. Firstly the three-level half-bridge structure without clamped diodes and flying capacitor is used as the primary side of proposed converter. Secondly the current-doubler- rectifier circuit is adopted as secondary side of proposed converter. In order to increase power density, the derivation of integrated magnetic is presented. The main transformer is split into two transformers and their magnetizing inductors are employed as output inductors, and finally these two transformers are integrated into one core. Compared to traditional zero-voltage-switching current-doubler-rectifier three-level converter, the proposed converter has several advantages. The problem of poor clamped diode reliability in traditional current-doubler-rectifier three-level converter is eliminated. Only one core is needed by using the integrated magnetic method, and so the power density is high. Meanwhile the windings of main transformer can be directly used to drive synchronous rectifiers to realize self-driven. So, the self-driven circuit is simple, and the efficiency is high. A 28V/100A prototype is built in lab to verify the theoretical analysis.
