Abstract:In this paper, with the frequency-domain analysis method, characteristics of LCL filter in shunt active power filter are researched and the impact on filter system in different load conditions is focused heavily on. Conditions of inductive load are similar to that of no load, and capacitive load will inducte another resonant peak, and resistive load can increase system’s damping ratio. While in the conditions of harmonic source, with the improved filter system model, amplitude and phase of filter output current will change. Based on the above analysis, a systemic LCL filter design method is presented, which comprises four groups of constraints such as total connection reactance value, damping ratio, attenuation rate of switching noise and resonant frequency. Using this method, a proper damping ratio of system is required according to the design goals of the filter, and the filter performance can be optimized by back-stepping correction. Simulation and experiment results demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed method.
