Abstract:Doubly salient electro-magnetic generator (DSEG) is a new type of brushless electrical machine, whose structure is simple with high reliability and excellent potential. However, the generator’s obvious torque ripple in input torque has restricted its applications. In this paper, non-linear formula of the electromagnetic torque of DSEG being designed under no-load condition has been proved to be practicable through the comparison with linear formula as well as approximate non-linear formula. Analytical calculation and simulation studies on the using of virtual displacement method to DSEG have verified the correctness of non-linear formula. At last, the simulation results have been validated by experiments.
