Abstract  The current inductive-power-transfer (IPT) system fails to realize the conversion from constant current output (CCO) mode to constant voltage output (CVO) mode by switching the operating frequency. This paper proposed a new kind of P-CLCL compensation network used in single-switch circuit (SSC). By changing the operating frequency from fCC to fCV, the proposed circuit can be changed from CCO mode to CVO mode, which decouples the relationship between the output and the load. The mutual inductance equivalent model is used to analyze the restrain conditions of compensation network parameters in CCO mode and CVO mode, respectively. An analysis method of equivalent asymmetric input voltage waveform suitable for SSC is given. In the case of the realization of zero voltage switching (ZVS), ZVS margin and voltage stress in switch, a design method of primary compensation capacitor based on “Mathcad” image is proposed. Finally, an experimental prototype with 1A charging current and 25.2V charging voltage is built to verify the analysis.
