Abstract  There are three main modulation strategies for open-winding motor drive system with common dc bus: alternate sub-hexagonal center PWM (ASHC-PWM), middle hexagon PWM and decoupling SVPWM. The voltage output range and zero sequence voltage cannot be considered under a single modulation strategy. A phase-shift decoupled SVPWM control strategy is proposed in this paper. Based on decoupling SVPWM, the proposed strategy takes the phase angle between the two voltage vectors as a control variable. By shifting the phase angle, the OW-PMSM can achieve wide output voltage range and the smallest zero sequence voltage during the full output voltage. Finally, the correctness and validity of the proposed method are verified by simulations in Matlab/Simulink and experiments using the experimental platform based on dSPACE DS1007.
