Fault Diagnosis Method for IGBT and DC-Link Capacitor of Single-Phase PWM Rectifier |

Abstract Single-phase PWM rectifier is an important part of the train traction converter, which is mainly composed of IGBT and DC-link capacitor, their running status are crucial to the safe operation of the train. Aiming at the current distortion characteristic of single-phase PWM rectifier with IGBT fault, this paper presented an IGBT fault diagnosis method based on wavelet transform and D-S evidence theory. Aiming at the impedance characteristic of the DC-link capacitor equivalent circuit, this paper presented a DC-link capacitor fault diagnosis method based on equivalent series resistance (ESR). The simulation model and a test platform of single-phase PWM rectifier were built, to simulate and test the proposed fault diagnosis method. The experimental results were consistent with the simulation results, verifying the correctness and validity of the proposed fault diagnosis methods.
