Abstract Aiming at the efficiency of wireless power transfer via magnetic resonance coupling varies according to change of load, change of stray capacitance and inductance in the high-frequency circuit, a new adaptive tuning magnetically coupled resonant wireless power system based on magnetic amplifier has been presented. The factors that affect the transmission efficiency of the system were obtained by theoretical analysis. By simulation and prototype design, the working mechanism and performance of the magnetic amplifier were analyzed. Based on this, an adaptive tuning system based on magnetic amplifier was designed. The simulation experiment results verify the correctness of the adaptive tuning system. The simulation experiment results verify the correctness of the adaptive tuning system. The transmission efficiency of the system is improved effectively compared to detuning system state caused by such factors as inductance, capacitance, and load.
