Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Rotor Position Detection Method Based on High-Frequency Square-Wave Signal Injection |

Abstract In the low-speed sensorless position detection technology of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), the traditional high-frequency square-wave voltage injection method is sensitive to measurement error and is susceptible to sampling delay and non-linear effects of the inverter. Thus, a new method of position error extraction is proposed, which replaces the traditional differential current demodulation method with the demodulation method of continuous signal, to reduce the sensitivity of the system to sampling error. First, a high-frequency square-wave voltage was injected into the estimated d-axis, and the high-frequency current component was obtained by current sensors. Then, the current response in the estimated q-axis was decomposed into a sum of sinusoidal signals of different frequencies by Fourier decomposition. After multiplying the sum of sinusoidal signals with a fixed frequency cosine modulation wave, the rotor position error was obtained through a low-pass filter, and the initial value of rotor position was obtained by the position tracker. Finally, based on the saturation effect of magnetic circuit, the magnetic pole polarity was identified by the applied current bias method. The simulation and the experimental results show that, the proposed method has fast convergence, low sampling frequency, insensitivity to sampling error, small phase delay and high detection accuracy.
