Abstract  Active neutral-point-clamped (ANPC) multilevel converter is a newly emerging converter. This paper introduced the structure of seven-level ANPC (ANPC-7L) dual PWM synchronous motor vector control system and the control strategy of ANPC-7L converter first, and then studied the problem of system pre-charging, proposed a step by step synchronized pre-charging strategy, after that this paper studied the PWM rectifier control strategy under unbalanced grid and the control strategy of synchronous motor vector control system. The feasibility of the proposed algorithms are verified by experimental results from a 380 V/5 kW ANPC-7L dual PWM converter.
