Abstract Dynamic voltage regulator (DVR) is an efficacious measure to solve power quality problems. It is indispensable for DVR to adopt digital filter in its control system to detect voltage sags and swells accurately. Voltage increment inertial filter that can distinguish the sudden changes of voltage amplitude, can conquer the time delay problem of the conventional inertial filter, and ensure the creditability of filtered voltage waveform at the point of amplitude sudden change. So this filter method can meet the need of the test system of DVR perfectly.
