A Hybrid Rotor Position Identification Method for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

Abstract  

A hybrid speed sensorless control strategy of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor is investigated, which combine the minimum voltage vector injection method and sliding-mode observer method. The method of minimum voltage vector injection is used to obtain the rotor position in the low speed range. The rotor position is identified through the sliding mode observer method at middle and high speed. In the transition region of position and speed, first, the position error of two methods are combined with the weight function which is speed dependently. After getting the mixed position error, the rotor position can be obtained by a phase-locked loop (PLL). For the transition of injected voltage, a ramp function related to speed of voltage amplitude is designed. The experimental results show that the position identification method proposed in this paper can realize the direct closed-loop start from the stationary state under the rated load, and the switch strategy implemented a smooth transition. Wide range speed control is realized, Low-speed algorithm is simple to implement, and it has great value in industrial application.
