Abstract An adaptive filter method is proposed that extracts the DC components of the d-q frame current to compensate the dead-time effect in pulse width modulation( PWM) for inverter control. In addition to current space vector compensation method, phase current noise negative influence to this method is discussed. To eliminate the noise, an effective adaptive filter and its related dynamic convergence parameter method are presented which are simple and easy for application. Measured results demonstrate this method can obtain precise d-q frame current and compensate the dead time voltage properly.
