Optimal SPWM Control Strategy and Its Power Balance Scheme for Cascaded Multilevel Inverters |

Abstract This paper mainly analyzes several existing SPWM control strategies which have been widely used in the multilevel converter by means of the double Fourier analysis. By comparison, the optimal SPWM control strategy is picked out in view of the spectra of the output line voltage. In order to realize the power balance among all the units, this paper improves the optimal SPWM control strategy. The improved strategy not only realizes the power balance of each unit, but also do not influence the quality of the output voltage waveform. Simulation and experimental results verify the theoretical analysis.
